Bought a WordPress plugin as a ZIP from Sellingit.org? Here is the exact install path we recommend on a normal self-hosted WordPress site.
What you need
- A completed order and the product ZIP file
- Administrator access to your WordPress dashboard
- A recent backup (or at least note which plugins are active) before you install anything new
Step 1 – Download the ZIP
- Complete checkout on Sellingit.org
- Download the ZIP from your order confirmation / download link
- Keep the file as a
.zip– do not extract it unless a product page specifically tells you to
Step 2 – Upload in wp-admin
- Log in to WordPress
- Go to Plugins → Add New
- Click Upload Plugin
- Choose the ZIP file and click Install Now
- When installation finishes, click Activate Plugin
Tip: If WordPress says the upload is too large, raise the host PHP upload limit or ask your host for help, then retry the same Upload Plugin flow.
Step 3 – Confirm it works
- Look for a new settings screen under Settings, Tools, or the plugin’s own menu
- Open a page on the front end and verify the expected behavior
- If nothing appears, check Plugins to confirm the plugin is Active
Common install problems
“Destination folder already exists”
An older copy of the same plugin folder is already on the server. Deactivate and delete the old plugin (or rename its folder via SFTP), then upload the new ZIP again.
White screen / critical error after activation
- Use recovery mode if WordPress emails you a link
- Or rename the plugin folder via SFTP/File Manager to force a deactivate
- Re-activate other plugins one by one to find a conflict
- Email support with the exact error text
Plugin installs but features are missing
Read the product page for where controls live (admin bar, Tools menu, Settings, etc.). Many utilities intentionally keep a small footprint and do not add a giant dashboard.
FTP / SFTP install (optional)
If upload fails in wp-admin:
- Extract the ZIP on your computer
- Upload the plugin folder into
wp-content/plugins/ - Activate it under Plugins in WordPress
After install checklist
- Clear any page cache / CDN cache
- Test while logged out if the feature is front-end
- Keep the original ZIP as your licensed copy
