Understand Your Goals
To measure what actually matters, you first need to define your objectives as a digital product maker. This could include anything from increasing website traffic to boosting sales or conversions. Make sure these goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART). Write them down and keep them somewhere visible to ensure they stay top of mind.
Track Key Performance Indicators
Determine the key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with your goals. For digital product makers, some important KPIs include:
- Website traffic and engagement metrics like page views, unique visitors, bounce rate, and time on site.
- Conversion rates and sales figures for e-commerce sites or lead generation campaigns.
- Average order value (AOV) and customer lifetime value (CLV) to optimize pricing strategies.
This is not an exhaustive list. Identify the KPIs that matter most to your business, and make sure you’re tracking them consistently using tools like Google Analytics or WordPress plugins like Jetpack.
